Why do you need

proof of Installation?

If your insurance provider is asking you to install a GPS tracker on your boat, it's because they have a "Special Theft Deductible" policy that excludes theft unless you can prove that your insured boat is equipped with a GPS tracking device and monitoring system that meets certain requirements:

1.- Professionally installed, permanently fixed in an area not easily accessible and not visible.

With LocMarine, you can easily and discreetly hide the device inside your boat's electronics compartments or behind its fiberglass. The unit has no external antenna cable or label, which could identify it as a GPS/monitoring device. Plus, there's no need for external mounting, which could make the device easily accessible and removable.

2.- Designed for Marine Application/Environment

LocMarine was designed from the ground up to withstand the harsh marine environment. Featuring an IP67 waterproof enclosure and 16 AWG marine wiring, our monitoring device meets and exceeds ABYC's minimum wire size requirements for marine electronics installations. In fact, we're proud to say that we're the only monitoring device on the market that complies with these important standards.

3.- Must be connected to DC power and have a battery backup.

LocMarine is equipped with a battery power backup to ensure continuous device operation. Furthermore, if the unit becomes disconnected from the DC power source, the customer will receive a notification alert.

4.- Worldwide Coverage.

LocMarine provides worldwide coverage and employs redundant communication systems to offer as reliable and uninterrupted service as possible.

5.- System must send automatic alerts when movement is detected.

LocMarine has a geofencing feature that enables the device to send geofence alerts to the customer's mobile device or other connected devices in the event that the vessel strays from a predefined location.

The most crucial requirement is that "the GPS tracking and monitoring system must be operational at the time of loss."
